The End
The last family of cavemen have stayed alive by staying in their cave as much as possible in Dreamworks' animated The Croods. Grug (Nicolas Cage) has kept his family safe by being the strongest and by teaching them to fear everything-- especially anything new-- but his willful daughter Eep (Emma Stone) hates being cooped up in the dark cave. When Eep sneaks out one night and meets Guy (Ryan Reynolds), a wanderer trying to outrun "The End," Grug wants to get rid him: a stranger who uses fire and has a head full of new and frightening ideas has no place in Grug's world. With The End closing in on them, The Croods have to leave the cave and are forced to follow Guy's promise of something new over the horizon... which is everything Eep wants, and everything Grug fears. On DVD and Blu Ray.Playing fictionalized versions of themselves, Jay Baruchel visits his old friend Seth Rogen in Los Angeles in This Is The End, but even though Jay doesn't like LA or the Hollywood scene, Seth drags him to a party at James Franco's house. The only thing worse for Jay than being stuck at a show business party would be the apocalypse, which rends the ground, sets the hills on fire, kills most of the partiers, and leaves him trapped in Franco's house with Seth, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride. They hole up as long as they can, but the End of Days is knocking at their door, and with limited food and water, not even James Franco's house can keep them safe from the apocalypse outside. With Michael Cera. On DVD and Blu Ray.
Real Killers
When the Anchorage police recover handcuffed and kidnapped Cindy Paulson (Vanessa Hudgens), they simply turn her back onto the street in The Frozen Ground. Though the officers on the case wouldn't take the word of a teenage prostitute, Sgt Halcolmbe (Nicolas Cage) sees Cindy as the first real link between missing Alaska girls and Robert Hansen (John Cusack). Based on the case to arrest and find evidence implicating Hansen, who killed around twenty women over a twelve-year span, Halcolmbe sees Cindy as his best hope in bringing Hansen to justice... but the one girl who got away is Hansen's biggest threat, something that needs to be taken care of if he wants to avoid jail. With Dean Norris. The three-part interview with Richard Kuklinski, the basis for the recent release of The Iceman, The Iceman Interviews collects the conversations Kuklinski filmed for HBO in 1992. Interviewed by a forensic psychologist, Kuklinski talks about his upbringing, his family life, his long history as a contract killer for the mob, and his relationship with murder and morality.

Exploring the over-80 table tennis championships, Ping Pong introduces 89-year-old athletic British Les, 100-year-old Australian Dot, chainsmoking Chinese Sun, and the rest of the 80+ table tennis contenders. Telling each player's story, the film explores both the contest itself and the competitive senior citizens that make up its culture.Combining theories about the "real" meaning of Stanley Kubrick's 1980 film The Shining, Room 237 provides a platform for enthusiasts of the film to explain the hidden message of The Shining. Each commenter asserts that their theory is obviously Kubrick's intended meaning-- Kubrick being notoriously precise about even the smallest details of his films-- but their theories range from The Shining being Kubrick's apology for faking the moon landing, to a metaphor for sexual repression and abuse, to an exploration of Native American genocide... just to name a few. On DVD and Blu Ray.

Independents
Taking place in real time over the course of a Brooklyn bus ride, Michel Gondry's The We and The I assembles a group of teenage non-actors to create a naturalistic microcosm of New York life. Blurring the lines between character and actor, the film allows the kids to play off each other as they taunt, flirt, confront, and goad one another as their individual stories progress, but doesn't prevent their real lives from erupting on screen. When Nick gets dumped by his girlfriend, he leaves his New York home and retreats to his hometown of Rockford, Illinois in the romantic comedy Language of a Broken Heart.
