Stuck Together

Sporting goods store manager Jim (Adam Sandler) has a disastrous blind date with professional closet organizer Lauren (Drew Barrymore) in Blended, and plan not to see each other again, only to keep bumping into one another around town, bickering each time. Jim complains about Lauren to his buddy (Shaquille O'Neal) and Lauren complains about Jim to her best friend (Wendi McLendon-Covey), but, through coincidence and bad luck, the find themselves sharing a suite on a luxurious South African vacation. Now Jim and his three girls and Lauren and her two boys are trapped together at a resort-- they don't want to be stuck together, but pretending they're one large, Brady Bunch-style family is the only way they can have their extravagant getaway, no matter how many comic hijinks their farce creates. Divorced Richard and Kate (Pierce Brosnan and Emma Thompson) tend to argue and snipe at one another when they're forced to spend time together, but they have to form a grudging alliance when a large corporation guts Richard's company and destroys their retirement plan in The Love Punch. Joined by their friends (Timothy Spall and Celia Imrie), Kate and Richard travel to the French Riviera with a plan to secure their retirement. If they can quash the squabbles that ended their marriage, they might be able to construct a con game that will rebuild their nest egg and get revenge on the cutthroat CEO that bankrupted them.

Losing Yourself

Traumatized by the death of his wife, a death he blames on the mystics and clairvoyants that prevented her from leaving the country and suffering her fatal accident, filmmaker Michael (Shane Johnson) vows to make a documentary proving that spirits, God, and supernatural entities don't exist in The Possession of Michael King. His plan is to employ every demonologist and necromancer he can find and invite a demon to possess his body-- Michael captures these rituals on film, trying to create a concrete record of how ineffective they are. When his documentary starts to feature stranger and more inexplicable phenomena than he was expecting, Michael's investigation takes a sinister turn. Is he recording supernatural events, or are his demons just in his mind?


Set outside of time, in a country somewhere between Orson Welles' The Trial, Interzone, and Terry Gilliam's Brazil, The Double is the story of Simon James (Jesse Eisenberg), an office drone so unremarkable his boss (Wallace Shawn) still can't remember his name. Though he's worked there for seven years, nobody really recognizes him, and he's charged with taking care of his boss' surly, unresponsive daughter (Yasmin Paige). He thinks he can make a connection with lonely, alientated Hannah (Mia Wasikowska) in the copy room, but just as he starts to assert himself, the office dynamic is upset by the arival of James Simon... who looks exactly like Simon James. James (also Eisenberg) is more confident and successful than Simon ever was, but what starts with James serving as a helpful life coach quickly becomes threatening: all of Simon's work, choices, and decisions are no longer his own. With James impressing Simon's boss and wooing Hannah, Simon has to find a way to assert himself, reclaim his identity, and prove he exists. On DVD and Blu Ray.

Sexual Politics

Because she is the illegitimate, mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy captain, young Dido Elizabeth Belle (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) is denied the full priveledge of her 18th century aristocratic family in Belle. Raised by her great-uncle Lord Mansfield (Tom Wilkinson), lord chief justice who presides over a series of cases questioning the legality of slavery, Belle's family makes her a part of high society, but her race keeps her apart. When she meets social activist lawyer John Davinier (Sam Reid), he not only ignites her passion, but also awakens her taste for justice and equality. Set during the sea-change of Britian's attitudes towards slavery, Belle begins to stand up to the system that would render her invisible. With Miranda Richardson. On DVD and Blu Ray.


Uninspired by the experience of losing her virginity, Isabelle begins to explore her sexuality in an unusual way in Francois Ozon's Young and Beautiful: she becomes a call girl. Calm and detached, she engages her clients with an aloof curiousity, working as a prostitute by night while still attending classes and being a faithful student. As the seasons change and Isabelle's experiment evolves, she learns both the business and the act of sex, as well as the unpredictable nature of secrets. With Charlotte Rampling.


Adapted from the 1985 play, The Normal Heart stars Mark Ruffalo as Ned Weeks, a writer spurred into furious action when his friends start dying of AIDS. Set during a time when the government refused to adress or even acknowledge the existance of AIDS, Weeks leads a crusade to make the culture aware of the danger in their midst and fight the establishment that would ignore the problem. Joined by a doctor (Julia Roberts) who can support Weeks' passion with research, facts, and statistics, they fight against a system that rather ignore them as they die of a disease than admit the disease exists. With Taylor Kitsch.


Set in pre-World War I Germany, aging steel manufacturer Karl Hoffmeister (Alan Rickman) hires bright, young Friedrich as his personal assistant in A Promise. Friedrich is ambitious, earning an engineering degree despite an impoverished background, and quickly becomes an indespensible figure in the Hoffmeister household, assuring him a place close to Karl's much younger wife, Lotte (Rebecca Hall). As Friedrich develops a fascination with Lotte, his plans for a bright future could be undone by sullying the Hoffmeister's family and losing the advancement he fought so hard to gain.

Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) has adapted to his superhero lifestyle in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, swinging through New York, fighting crime, and cracking wise... even if it means staying away from Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) to keep her safe from Spider-Man's enemies. Spider-Man has become a hero and an icon to underdogs like Oscorp employee Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx), but a tragic accident turns Max into super-powered Electro and transforms his idolization of Spider-Man into jealousy. With Oscorp (led by Colm Feore) hoping to use Electro fro their own ends and Peter's childhood friend Harry Osborne (Dane DeHaan) seeking Spidey for his own reasons, Spider-Man is suddenly up against clashing powers that he may not be able to match. When photographer Patrick (Kentucker Audley) tells his friends (AJ Bowen and Joe Swanberg) from online multimedia company Vice about his sister Caroline's (Amy Seimetz) involvement in a remote community, they decide it would make a great story in Ti West's The Sacrament. Invited by Caroline, Patrick and his film crew fly to the community and are escorted into Eden Parish. Though they're met by heavily armed perimeter guards, their tour of the community paints the picture of happy people living an idealistic, sharing, technology-free life. Overseen by the nurturing Father (Gene Jones), the Eden Parish members are open to the film crew about the perfect life they've built for themselves, but the Vice film crew begins to discover hints that not everything Father tells them is true.


Rock star Adam (Tom Hiddleston) lives in seclusion in his Detroit apartment while his long-time partner Eve (Tilda Swinton) wanders Tangier in Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive, but their connection to one another is thousands of years old. Adam and Eve are vampires, and while Eve enjoys traveling the world and conversing with fellow undead 16th century playwright Kit Marlowe (John Hurt), Adam is withdrawn from modern humanity, reclusively recording his music, and only connecting to the world through Ian (Anton Yelchin), who brings him anything he wants. Eve flies back to the United States to reconnect with him, and their time together is both a celebration of their love and a clash of their informed-by-millenia worldviews, complicated by the arrival of Eve's younger sister (Mia Wasikowska). When a wealthy, successful Dr. Parker (Sharon Stone) says she'd like to arrange a ménage à trois, Murray (Woody Allen) says he can help her in Fading Gigolo. Even though the deal would pay $1,000, Fioravante (John Turturro) is hesitant when Murray explains the offer, he agrees, first seeing Dr. Parker alone. Knowing the system can work, Murray sets up more dates for Fioravante, and they find themselves operating a thriving business. Their success attracts the attention of Hasidic neighborhood watch (Liev Schreiber) and Fioravante becomes more interested in a vulnerable widow than the job, so they might not make the date with Dr. Parker and her girlfriend (Sofia Vergara) that started the whole situation. Josh Wheaton (Shane Harper) enrolls in a philosophy class and is shocked to discover devout atheist Professor Jeffrey Radisson (Kevin Sorbo) requires his students to sign a declaration stating "God Is Dead" to pass the class in God's Not Dead. A noble Christian, Josh refuses to sign, a decision that puts him in direct conflict with the atheist literati that runs the university. Though he's consistently beaten by Professor Radisson in debates in front of the class and his moral stand alienates him from many of his friends and classmates, his devotion stands in stark contrast to the mean-spirited, empty lives led by Jeffrey and his arrogant, wealthy brother (Dean Cain). All Josh can do is stand by his principles, an act of courage that could change hearts and even win him the support of his favorite Christian rock band.


The Scooby gang travels to a haunted castle deep in the murky wilds of Pennsylvania in Scooby Doo: Franken Creepy. Velma's great-great Uncle Dr. Von Dinkenstein left Velma the castle in his will, and the gang convinces her to claim her inheritance, but the Ghost of Von Dinkenstein Castle blows up the Mystery Machine after they arrive. Now Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby have no choice but to get to the bottom of the mystery of the Dinkenstein Monster.

Muppets

Reunited and back on top after the events of the last movie, Kermit, Piggy, Fozzie and the rest of the gang have to figure out what to do for a sequel in Muppets Most Wanted. Their new manager, Dominic Badguy (Ricky Gervais), tells them the answer is simple: go on a world tour. The Muppets are hesitant, but Badguy's got the whole tour set up... and just in time for his partner Constantine to escape a Russian prison. Constantine looks exactly like Kermit, and quickly steps up as head of the Muppets. With Kermit mistakenly sent to jail (watched over by Tina Fey), Constantine leads the Muppets on a series of capers and heists across Europe. If partners Agent Sam the Eagle and Agent Jean Pierre Napoleon (Ty Burrell) can't stop the crime spree, it's up to Kermit to break out of prison, find his friends, and stop his criminal look-alike. On DVD and Blu Ray.

Outrageous

Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) gets rid of his possessed ex-girlfriend Kisha (Essence Atkins) and hopes to live a haunting-free life in A Haunted House 2, but he finds himself in the same old situation as soon as he moves in with Megan (Jamie Pressley) and her out of control kids. Kisha has possessed the new house, and Malcolm is thrown into slapstick fights with creepy dolls, swarms of moths, aggressive chickens, and perverse demons so obsessed with annoying him, not even exorcist Father Williams (Cedric the Entertainer) can fend them off.


Former gangster Paul Maguire (Nicolas Cage) has gone straight and lives a quiet, respectable life with his wife (Rachel Nichols) and teenage daughter in Rage. When kidnappers abduct his daughter, Maguire assembles a few trusted former colleagues (Max Ryan and Michael McGrady) and sets out to find the men who attacked his family. His former boss (Peter Stormare) tries to talk him out of his rampage, but Paul will follow his warpath to its bitter end... even if it leads to his own past. With Pasha D. Lychnikoff. Scottish Detective Sergeant Bruce Robertson (James McAvoy) is angling for a major promotion in the adaptation of Irvine Welsh's Filth. Bruce is certain he'll be promoted, not because he's the best cop, but because he lies, cheats, and manipulates his way to the top of every situation: working on his rivals' insecurities, he undermines his fellow officers' (including Jamie Bell and Imogen Poots) chances for advancement. While working on solving the murder of a Japanese tourist-- the case that will guarantee his success-- Bruce carries on as he always has: threatening witnesses, assaulting women, harassing everyone who gets in his way, and ruining the life of his best friend (Eddie Marsan). While his therapist (Jim Broadbent) tries to straighten him out, Bruce seems determined to hit bottom, waiting for the day his lies and excesses finally catch up with him. On DVD and Blu Ray.

Dramatic

Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy) walks out of his construction job and climbs into his car in Locke, beginning a chain reaction that will affect every aspect of his life. Unfolding in real time, Locke calls his wife (Ruth Wilson) and tells her that, if traffic allows, he'll be home in half an hour... but he's on his way to the hospital where his co-worker (Olivia Colman) is about to have a baby. The child is his, and Locke is complicating everything in the rest of his life to be present at the birth, but as he drives to the hospital, he makes a series of phone calls in an attempt to hold his life together. Outsider Dino (Christina Ricci) has to adjust to a dangerous Australian neighborhood when she starts teaching at an inner-city school in Around the Block. Working at an under-funded school on the brink of closure, she's eager to inspire the kids to engage with their education and convinces the burntout principal (Jack Thompson) to let her stage a production of Hamlet. She finds her lead in Liam (Hunter Page), a kid from the projects whose thespian uncle died in a casino heist led by Jack (Matt Nable), Liam's father. Liam, like most of Dino's students, is inspired by her program, but drawn by his family and society towards a darker and more dangerous life.


Fifty-something Keith (Guy Pearce) experiences a shock when he develops intense feelings for Sophie (Felicity Jones), the English exchange student going to school with his daughter, in Breathe In. Piano prodigy Sophie reminds Keith, a cellist turned music teacher, of the vibrancy of his youth, passion for music and writing, while his wife (Amy Ryan) senses what could be happening between the two more than what actually is between them. As their relationship subtly develops, it affects everything around them, driving Keith and Sophie toward an inescapable conclusion. On DVD and Blu Ray.


Johanna (Kristin Wiig) has worked most of her life as a domestic aide for one elderly woman, but has to move on when her employer passes away in Hateship, Loveship. Taken on as a housekeeper by rich, elderly Mr. McCauley (Nick Nolte), Johanna starts a new life maintaining the household and caring for Sabitha (Hailee Steinfeld), McCauley's teenage granddaughter. Sabitha is mourning the loss of her mother and is immediately suspicious of her new nanny, but the new household puts Johanna in contact with the girl's father, Ken (Guy Pearce). Ken is a troubled ex-con with a drug problem and Johanna lives a meek, cloistered life, but their world gets larger in each others' presence. With Sami Gayle. On DVD and Blu Ray.

Real World

The story of a 1970s go-go dancer with Dissociative Identity Disorder, Halle Berry stars as Frankie in Frankie & Alice. Put into the care of Dr. Oswald (Stellan Skarsgaard) after running into traffic, Frankie reveals two other personalities live within her: Alice, a middle aged white supremist, and a precocious little girl Oswald christens "Genius." Frankie's mother (Phylicia Rashad) sees her through the therapy as Frankie and Dr. Oswald work through her past to find the trauma that caused her personality to split.


Based on a 1972 parapsychology experiment, The Quiet Ones is the story of Oxford Professor Joseph Coupland (Jared Harris) and his study of mysterious young Jane Harper, who manifests strange phenomena. The professor, his assistants, and a timid camera man (Sam Clafin) take Jane to a secluded country house where they want to document the supernatural occurrences, depriving her of sleep and encouraging her instability. Coupland tells Jane to put all of her negative energy into a doll they call Evey, but as the experiments continue, Evey proves to be a real force that, once awakened, can't be easily dismissed.


The Railway Man is an adaptation of World War II prisoner of war Eric Lomax's memoir. Framed by Lomax in the 1980s (Colin Firth), a troubled veteran trying to live a normal life with his wife Patti (Nicole Kidman), the story recounts his younger self (Jeremy Irvine) and his time in a Japanese POW camp. When a friend (Stellan Skarsgaard) who served in the camp with Eric tells the story of the beatings and torture, Patti drives him to find and confront the man who tormented him. After living for years with severe, untreated Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Eric may be able to find peace in confronting the horrors of his past. On DVD and Blu Ray.


Dramatizing the young life of painter Alfred Munnings, Summer in February begins in 1913 Cornwall, a popular environment for artists of the time. A.J. Munnings (Dominic Cooper) is the magnetic center of a group of artists (including Hattie Morahan and Shaun Dingwall) who paint, play, drink, and carouse-- he's a bit of a blowhard, commands the direction of the party, and considers himself the most talented artist in the group. His rule is challenged when upper-class Florence Carter-Wood (Emily Browning) arrives in their midst, putting Munnings in competition with his handsome, athletic best friend (Dan Stevens) for her affections.


The newest film from the Disney Nature series is Disney Nature: Bears, spending a year with an Alaskan bear family. Following mama bear Skye and her two newborn cubs, Scout and Amber, the film documents the difficult first year of the young bears' lives. Emerging from winter hibernation and striking out into the world, the family contends with both the dangers of their environment and the excitement and discover of youth. On DVD and Blu Ray.

Challenging Fate

Beatrice (Shailene Woodley) grew up in Abnegation-- a faction of humanitarian helpers-- with her family in the rigidly segmented future of Divergent, but she dreams of being more than what her class allows. Tris' abilities make her an exemplary Dauntless soldier, but she's more than just one attribute: she is Divergent, and her ability to think for herself and see things from other perspectives frighten her regimented society more than anything else. As a boy, brilliant physics student Erol's (Haley Joel Osment) entire life changed when his father Gabriel (Rufus Sewell) vanished in I'll Follow You Down. When Erol was 9, his physicist father never returned from a business trip; his mother (Gillian Anderson) never emotionally recovered from the disappearance, but his physics professor father-in-law (Victor Garber) suspects Gabriel's disappearance is the result of a time travel experiment. Pooling their knowledge and studying Gabriel's notes, the believe they can recreate the experiment and bring him back... but while Erol wants to re-write history and erase his father's disappearance, changing the events of the last 12 years could erase his present reality.

Down-on-his-luck driver Tobey (Aaron Paul) gets involved with a shady race that lands him in jail in Need for Speed. Released from prison, Tobey wants revenge on Dino (Dominic Cooper), the villainous driver who shattered his life. Dino's a well-financed, former-NASCAR professional while Tobey is a poor garage owner who doesn't have much of a chance in the De Leon, the underground race from New York to San Francisco, without a fast car. Acquiring a custom Mustang from Julia (Imogen Poots), an exotic car dealer, Tobey might be able to beat Dino, win the race, and earn his revenge... but Julia's not going to trust him with one of her show cars alone. Hospitalized for 11 years after the murder of his parents, Tim has reconciled the horror of his childhood with the real world in Oculus. Reunited with his sister Kaylie (Karen Gillan), she takes him to their childhood home to fulfill the promise they made as children: before he was taken away, Tim promised he'd help destroy the haunted mirror that possessed their father and drove him to murder. Tim has accepted that their childish imaginations invented a story in the face of a tragedy they couldn't comprehend, but Kaylie refuses to accept the reality that institutional therapy forced on him. She's acquired the mirror, set up video cameras, and rigged a self-destruct device, but as Kaylie fights to convince Tim of their shared supernatural horror, reality starts to bend around them. Their present lives blend with the turbulent history of their parents (Rory Cochrane and Katee Sackhoff), but is the distortion of time and reality the effect of a haunting or simply two damaged children losing their minds? Smaller

The story of a prolific photographer who never published her own work, the documentary Finding Vivian Maier began when historian John Maloof purchased an unlabeled box of photo negatives at an auction. As he explored and scanned the photographs, the body of work became popular and gained acclaim, but there was no information on the photographer, Vivian Maier. Working to tell her story, the film tracks down the people that knew her: working as a nanny, Maier shot mostly on the streets of New York, bringing her camera with her everywhere, and creating a body of work that is only now coming to light.


Fresh from France's top public administration college, Arthur (Raphael Personnaz) sets out to make his mark in government in The French Minister. Beginning as a speechwriter, Arthur finds himself working under minister of foreign affairs Alexandre Taillard de Worms (Thierry Lhermitte), a political force of nature that blows through meetings, speeches, and negotiations like a hurricane. Because Alexandre's speeches are incomprehensible blasts of cliche, hyperbole, and charged language, Arthur's efforts to rewrite them into something that make sense are going to need some help. At best, he's got the level headed chief of staff (Niels Arestrup), at worst, he's subjected to the whirlwind of Alexandre's wordplay and manic slapstick.

Elderly Carrie Watts (Cicely Tyson) lives in a cramped Houston apartment with her overprotective son (Blair Underwood) and bossy daughter-in-law (Vanessa Williams) in a new adaptation of the classic play The Trip to Bountiful. Carrie wants to return to her rural home town of Bountiful and, because her son doesn't think she can travel alone, she plots a way to escape. She heads downtown only to discover trains don't go to Bountiful anymore, and finds herself on a bus, on a road trip that frees her to open up for the first time in years. With Clancy Brown.
